Home

My therapeutic goal with all of my patients is to provide a warm, positive and family-oriented environment, allowing children, teens, and families a safe place to work through their current stressors and life’s challenges. My area of focus include whole health wellness, depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), life stressors and challenges, attachment, sensory issues, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood disorders, and trauma (DTD),  Sudden changes and loses.

I like to stay up to date and draw from the latest research in play therapy, sand-tray, art therapy, neurobiology, trauma, and attachment theory to inform my treatment. I draw from experts in the field including Dr. Bruce Perry, Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr Porges, Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk, Dr Richard Swartz, Ana Gomez and Dan Hughes.

Play and playful interactions always underpin the therapy to create a sense of safety that allows a child or teen to feel comfortable processing their challenges in life whether they are struggling with hard emotions like anxiety or depression, family conflicts, or other mental health issues.  With adults the relationship is the undergird to all therapy interactions in order to create a safe and secure environment.

I believe collaboration with families and care-takers is essential for a  child’s healing. Parents are often invited and encouraged, whenever possible, to participate as a therapeutic presence for their child. Patients integrity and privacy is very important while going through the process of counseling so it is a delicate dance.  The deep, emotional connection between the therapist and patient can be a powerful agent for healing.

I believe that fife is a journey it’s about where you have been, where you are now and where you want to go.  My goal is to offer you help to improved you health and decrease you stress and live with more joy and intention.
